They can also be catalysts who activate the not so good parts of yourself that rise to the surface that need to be dealt with. They can learn from you too. You can move toward the purpose God has for you WHEN you have and maintain peace with God, yourself and everyone else. So during the holidays remind yourself of what drew you together with others in the first place instead of focusing on differing opinions. You'll gain peace and a loving tolerance towards them which will also help you move forward. Inspired by Philippians 2:2-4

Are you gonna be okay if you don't get your way? It's important to put opinion out there and express your ideas and truths but equally important to accept the outcome no matter which way things go. Find out why being true to yourself and trusting the results to God makes it easier to take a risk and speak up for what you really want and believe to be His will! Ephesians 4:15

Can you put the faults of other people out of your thinking? With all the celebrating and being with family and friends right now it's easy to find fault with others. So make it a point to look for the good in EVERYONE you are with and ask God to help you work on your own faults instead. We discuss how. Matthew 7:3-5

Family gatherings are wonderful but they can also be a breeding ground for gossip. (Oh the weakness to talk about others). Did you know that this destructive, over interest in spreading rumors reflects a low opinion of ourselves and proves to others we can't be trusted? Put an end to gossip and build trust by focusing on what needs to be changed in you. II Thessalonians 3:11-13

Even though it's two days before Thanksgiving take care of yourself! Don't feel guilty about it either! Not only will you be able to give love and take care of others you'll be someone they want to be around. Go for a walk, read good book, SLEEP, and above all spend time in worship and God's word. He wants us to develop a lifestyle of habit of self love. Today we discuss why this is such a challenge for many of us to do not just at Thanksgiving time but all the time.

God is not mad at you and He loves you BUT He does show His discipline towards our mistakes and rebellion. It's not uncommon to be unaware that God's discipline can cause feelings of abandonment and being overwhelmed. If you are feeling God's discipline don't despair!
