If you really want to know just how good God can be to you then keep it simple. Just seek Him and ask Him to help you. He has the power and wisdom you need to have victory in your struggle with addictions and temptations. Scripture says, when we do this “we will not lack any good thing.” Psalm 34:8-14

Jesus loves you, He is moved by compassion for you, and He hears your sincere cries for help. He also wants you to run to Him as your escape hatch from the world's problems instead of to lust, drug/alcohol abuse, food or unhealthy relationships. He is close to the brokenhearted, SO willing to help and has hope to give you for your future. Judges 16:17

God is deeply concerned for those who have been rejected and abused. Genesis 16

So what "makes" you obey God? Obligation? Tradition? Those are works oriented and "makes" genuinely loving Him impossible. Submitting to Him because you love Him is a transformation in your heart by Holy Spirit and "causes" obeying Him possible and an humbling choice. John 14:23

It's easy to loose your faith when you are under attack and even feel anger towards God. But remember that according to scripture, Jesus said that "He pleads for you in prayer that your faith will NOT completely fail!." Luke 22: 31-32
