We're exactly three quarters of the way through our first year of podcasting so its definitely time to talk about our favourite sandwiches. Why have we waited so long?!? Okay okay... we're really here to review Daxter (PSP) and Gravity Rush (PS Vita) and at least half of these games are better than a generic every day sandwich. In fact... could one of these games be one of the best handheld games ever???

Mario Kart 8 is almost 10 years old. Yes we know y'all want to cancel the Wii U but it produced a bunch of great Nintendo exclusives that were then ported to the Switch and they really (unsurprisingly) took off...

Mario Kart 8 deluxe has sold over 57 million units since its release and is the best selling Nintendo Switch game of all time. With the release of wave 6 dlc, we take a look back at the Mario Kart series and decide is the 96 track monster offering the best Mario Kart of all time?

Hey Retropodders

Its Freeplay Fortnightly (We will get some sort of branding to stick on this) here at LLVL HQ and Fazz is always banging on about Rich being steeped in video gaming lore so it's high time he proved it...

Rich takes us on a small learning journey through Shmup caravan modes dragging Fazz along for the ride on the undercarriage. Think Sideshow Bob in Cape Feare but with less hair.

Firstly we take a quick look at Vampire Survivors (Switch) which apparently is great for learning the movement required for Shmup work and then Rich teaches Fazz how to play Soldier Blade's (Playstation TV via PSP via PC Engine/Turbografx-16) caravan mode.

Stuff we discuss this week inanely:

- Is the word Shmup 'shmup' it's own butt?

- Tiny attention span = shiny sock shock!

- Who's belly is feeling the need for speed?!

By the end of it, all we can think about is The Beautiful South song, 'Caravan of Love'. Come on now... "Every woman, every man... join the caravan of love"

We also give a quick shout out to @retroslicegaming discord community who do amazing work at getting you involved in the retrogaming world! Kudos to you guys.

Or should that be EA Sports BIG up yo'self? Yes. We're back in the never ending EA well again this week. Who knew that Electronic Arts had taken over the entire world and owned every publishing house east of Santa Monica?! Oh you guys knew? I guess thats fair.

Just because a giant amorphous blob has splattered all over the game publishing landscape and absorbed everything doesn't mean its necessarily a terrible blob all the time... the EA Sports BIG series is one of those times.

We fondly look back at the quasi extreme sports video games series that took over the landscape for about a decade. Was it good? Was it great? Was it bang average?!

As part of the process we slalom through Def Jam Vendetta (PS2), NFL Street 3 (PSP) and SSX on Tour (PSP).

Other ridiculous tosh we consider:

- Rich will never feel Supersonic, drinking Gin and Tonic.

- Only psychopaths play pogs for keeps.

- The cool(boarder) kids say 'Snow Surfer'

Hi Podbods.

This episode is our now regular biweekly freeplay which is a bit of a nontraditional takeover. On the pod, we continue hosting duties with @aaronheffefin once again in the guest seat. Aaron is a very polite guest and he's decided to bring a brilliant selection of beer for us to sample. We spend time breaking down Aaron's newfound love of beer and we ask what he's currently got ranked atop of the leaderboard on his #Untapped app.

In the second half of the pod, we switch from handheld to headheld and we take the opportunity to review the Meta Quest 2. Fazz used to own one, Aaron's basically forgotten he owns one but is NOW a great time to pick one up with the Quest 3 on the horizon? He discuss it in detail.
