I am excited to bring to you today an interview with one of my mentors and the founder of The Heritage Institute.

A turning point in my life came in 2008, when I made the commitment to alter my destiny and focus solely on Heritage and Legacy Planning work. I retired from my former life as a Financial Planner and now work alongside individuals, couples, families and collaborate with their advisors to support them on their journey to live their family legacy.

I will be forever grateful to Rod for introducing me to this profession.

Today’s podcast guest is Lynne Finch – she is the award winning author of the No Cash Allowance and my partner in our collaboration to prepare the next generation. It’s a fun conversation and a lot of GEMS, especially for those with young children. She also shares ideas about how she is living her legacy…and passing it down thru the generations.

Today's podcast is an interview with my daughter Miranda – she is on to a new season of life as a freshman in college and while she was home on break, I was interested to hear what “family legacy” we are leaving in her….

During the interview we discuss her passion for hunting and animals, activities that she did during her high school years around legacy and family heritage, and how she “caught” our family values.

And, as always, I provide you with legacy stepping stones you can take with your family.

Holiday traditions create excitement and anticipation for the upcoming holiday along with creating stronger connections among family members. They give us a sense of belonging and a way to live our family legacy. Traditions connect us to our history and help us celebrate generations of family.

Take a moment to think about your family’s holiday season traditions. Do you know when, where and how the tradition first got started? Who had the idea? And what was the original purpose?

I share some examples of our family traditions and how it aligns with our family values and ideas to adjust to this year's holiday season.

This year we do have to get creative and the holiday season may not include everything the exact way we have done it in the past, but it doesn’t have to limit the joy, love and laughter.

During this podcast, I thought I would share my Top 5 Legacy stories for me from all the families I have worked with over the years. I share the stories with you to hopefully provide some inspiration and encouragement to help you take the first step towards LIVING your Family Legacy.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought it would be a fun idea to help us get into the spirit…with an attitude of gratitude… a thankful or grateful mindset along with a feeling of being blessed.

The Living My Legacy Podcast is about creating awareness of what’s possible if you are intentional about your legacy – for you, those you love, and your community. In this episode, we discuss what legacy means, how your individual personal legacy can be different from your family’s legacy, and ways to know if your legacy is on the right track. I will share some examples and provide you with some steps you can take on your journey.
