Natalie is a Junior at Chapman University and she is studying Psychology and Sociology. Natalie has not had an easy journey, yet she is learning daily and is so proud to be here today to live on to share her story, as well as Max’s.
Natalie had been dealing with depression and anxiety since she was in the eighth grade. She went to The Center For Discovery for the first time in 2014 where she met Max. Max and Natalie had an instant connection: they were similar and shared the same thoughts and feelings. Their connection grew stronger, and each day they fought their battles together. Max lost his battle in 2015. Natalie returned to The Center for Discovery after his passing. Natalie attended four different High Schools before she graduated. Then, Natalie went off to college at Chapman University. Residentials: Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program (this is the new name of the residential I went to and they specialize in mental health and substance abuse) Discovery Residential link (where Natalie went) and Center for Discovery is still around but is specifically for eating disorders now Eating Disorder Residential link
Outpatient programs: IOP (three times a week for several hours group and family therapy), Partial hospitalization (all day program normally used after a stay in the mental hospital)
