  • Dating, Being Single & Other Things I'm Unqualified For

Turns out, being single and knowing how to live for yourself are two very different things.

Can you build a life you absolutely adore while still wanting to share it with somebody?

This week, we're talking about life after long-term relationships, navigating dating, learning to live alone and the rather confronting realisation that being independent doesn't necessarily mean you've stopped waiting for someone else to choose you.

From rebuilding my mental health and learning to trust my intuition to creating a home I genuinely love, we're unpacking what it means to find yourself outside a relationship, without pretending you don't still want love.

Elsewhere, we've got some observations about Hinge, men and cereal, Anne Hathaway's understanding of the internet, and the Karen Read documentary. Plus, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, Gracie Abrams and an increasingly extensive This Girl Is Going to Be Okay playlist.

We're also revisiting last week's conversation about The Vilification of Noticing, discussing women, the AFL and institutional accountability.

Content advisory: This episode includes personal discussion of mental health, depression, mania and suicidal thoughts in the final Seriously Personal segment.

  • The Vilification of Noticing

A STUNNING week! I went to Sydney, spent too much money, ate too well and returned home with plenty to discuss, arguably the entire purpose of leaving the house. We’re catching up on what I’ve been watching, listening to and reading, and what’s taken over my feed. OH! And we’re making a playlist: This Girl Is Going to Be Okay.

Then, a conversation about violence against women, the way we talk about it, and what happens when awareness becomes part of a much bigger cultural conversation. Who gets heard, what gets noticed, and whether we’ve become better at recognising the things we once looked past.

And for the Seriously Personal: when did noticing become embarrassing?

When did remembering the tiny details, reading into a change in someone’s tone, or admitting that you care become something women are supposed to be embarrassed by? We’re talking performing disinterest, intuition versus overthinking, the vilification of the Crazy Woman and the strange pressure to prove how little we care.

Because maybe the problem isn’t that women notice too much.

  • We Used to Call Them Mistakes

The week that was! A quick chat about The Love Hypothesis, what I can't stop watching on my feed, and this week's Seriously Personal: unpacking The Drama, starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, and my relationship with mistakes, forgiveness, grace and, let’s be honest, men.
