Society values testing. Whether it's a building, a new car, or a pair of shoes, every product undergoes testing before it's given value. But what about our faith? It seems we often don't value the testing that comes with following Jesus. We begin a new series this week on the Book of James.

We all know that we're supposed to love each other; there are songs, movies, books, and TV shows both inside and outside the church that talk about love. Why then does there seem to be so much selfishness, hostility and "un-love" happening, even in the church? Maybe it's time we take another look at the love God wants us to have for each other.

Why isn't believing in God enough? What more does He want? The Bible speaks a lot about bearing good fruit that will last, what does that mean?

The Bible compares the Church to a body: many parts functioning as one. As followers of Jesus we all have a purpose that is essential to the function of the body.

The Communion tradition that Jesus introduced to the disciples was not exactly well received among most. But to those who accepted it and kept it, it became a most holy and unifying act among the people of God. That same tradition lives on today, are we doing it justice?
