David Boardman is a former police officer turned entrepreneur, gym owner, coach, and hybrid athlete based in Rhode Island. After spending 10 years in law enforcement — including roles in patrol, accident reconstruction, field training, and academy instruction — David made the decision to leave a secure career and pursue a bigger vision for his life and family.
Today, David is the co-owner of THRYVE Performance Lab and works as a personal trainer and online coach, helping busy dads lose fat, build strength, regain confidence, and become more capable versions of themselves without sacrificing their families or careers.
His own journey has been shaped by adversity. After multiple knee surgeries, emergency back surgery, and most recently a major ankle tendon reconstruction, David has continued to compete and train as a hybrid athlete across HYROX, running, cycling, and prepping for his first 70.3 Ironman while documenting the realities of rebuilding after setbacks.
As a husband and father of two boys, David’s message goes far beyond fitness. His platform focuses on fatherhood, discipline, faith, resilience, leadership, and having the courage to change direction when you know you’re meant for something more.
Through his coaching, businesses, and social media, David encourages men to stop negotiating with comfort, hold themselves to a higher standard, and build a life they’re proud for their children to see.
