Today’s message will focus on seed sown on the rocky ground.

From this you can already tell what that looks like, stony, hard, impenetrable and unyielding.

The scary thing about this heart state is that it shows short term results, from the outside, it looks like it will do well, like the seed will survive but soon enough, you will find out that it takes a different route.

There are three characters here, God and His word, the Believer or the hearer of God’s word, and the Satan- evil one.

God is always speaking through his word and the believer or the hearer of God’s word is always hearing but when he/she fails to ponder, reflect, meditate by speaking those same words back to himself so that it will take root and bear fruits, the enemy, the destroyer, the thief will come and snatch it away. He will never ask for your permission because all he does is to steal, kill and destroy, so put the word of God into your heart today and meditate on it by speaking it over your life.

There is a voice that speaks after God has given his command. You might be familiar with that voice because it might come as a thought or from that ‘well meaning friend of yours’. This voice plants seeds of doubt in your mind, opens you up to see things God did not design for you.

In Genesis 3, we see the deception play out where the snake deceptively shifted Eve’s focus from God’s instruction to lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life.
