Remember: Rate, Review, Subscribe, and Share. The Rev. Matt Kennedy stops by today to discuss the inerrancy of the Bible. The Word of God is living and active... and 100% true. Yet, presently there exists a profound lack of confidence in the Bible. What gives? We look at the concept of inerrancy: what it is and what it is not, and look at why adherence to this principle is required of all ADLW clergy. LTTW is back from hiatus, with a guest host, Melanie Taylor. What is Abundant Life? "When we fail to help young people navigate how sex and relationships fit into the broader category of life, we are failing the God who created relationships to be deep, bountiful gifts for us. This resource was developed to educate students about healthy relationships, sexuality, dating, and decision-making, while also covering topics like pornography addiction, identity, social media usage, loneliness, depression, and suicide - all resting on the ultimate redemption found only in Jesus." Sammie graduated from Robert Morris University in 2017 with a background in biology and psychology and started working with Anglicans for Life (AFL) in 2017. In addition to her work with AFL, she spends time going into public schools with the Women’s Choice Network, speaking to high schoolers about healthy relationships and sex education. Sammie married her best friend, Juan Gallo, in May 2019. During her free time, you can find her leading youth ministry with her husband at their church, where he serves as the youth pastor. Sammie spends her day-to-day making sure that every person hears and believes the words: "you were made for more." Rev. Canon Dr. Ashley Null: "The Prodigal Son." Closing Homily for the 2019 Clergy and Spouse Retreat.
This week's episode is an incredibly powerful testimony about the work of God in the life of His servant, Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi as he serves the province of Jos, Nigeria. We are incredibly thankful that Andrew Boyd, a truly gifted communicator, was able to join us. Please join us in support of the orphans of Jos, Nigeria and the labors of Archbishop Benjamin and Gloria Kwashi. Released a day late due to technical difficulties (Dr. Gatiss broke the internet for us, he's that popular) we are pleased to have on the show our friend, Dr. Lee Gatiss, Director of the Church Society. Dr. Gatiss was our synod plenary speaker in 2017. Did you know that Dr. Gatiss saved Bishop Dobbs life? We owe him much on many fronts, and hope to dub him our once and future guest. Lee speaks about his ministry and his new book, "Fight Valiantly!: Contending for the Faith in the Bible and in the Church of England." Dr. Jim Salladin joins us to discuss this beautiful and uniquely Anglican prayer, recited before coming to the table of Holy Communion. We learned some key lessons: You don't tug on superman's cape. You don't spit into the wind. You don't pull the mask off that old lone ranger. You don't tell Jim Salladin that the Prayer of Humble Access is a second occurrence of confession within the liturgy. Find out why this statement of our own worthlessness points to Him whose name alone is to be glorified, our most merciful God. On a technical note, the audio is a bit rough on this one, we are aware and working to fix it. "Actually, yes we must do something, and we need a God given, Spirit enabled courage, absolutely, but we mustn't be gutless." This is the charge given by the Rev. Philip de Grey-Warter as he tells us about his difficult decision to part ways with the Church of England. The Vicar speaks candidly to the events that necessitated this courageous stand. We also discuss the process of discerning Holy Orders and the authority of Scripture in the Anglican Communion. Please commit Philip, Bishop Andy Lines, and GAFCON to your prayers. May the Lord give us strength for the road ahead. Rate, review, and subscribe on the podcast player of your choice.
