Living Torah

The death of Sarah would bring prospective to Abraham’s life. The covenant cannot continue without a bride for his son. Where to find such a bride? Should he return to Ur or send someone else? Should he send Isacc to Ur? The account of the bride brings forth a very important subject for us all, the subject of trust. How many people are in our lives that we truly trust? What are some perimeters for such trust?

Abraham would later be referred to as a “Friend of Yah.” There are numerous Hebrew words for friend, but this one is the highest level. Compare Abraham to Lot and we find that where we long for, we will look to and where we look to is where we will live. The consequence of that process determines generations to come.

“Our Father Abraham” Why is he called our Father instead of Adam or Noah? What is the significance of him being born in 1948? The picture his life paints of our lives is overwhelming with insights.

A wicked and perverse world vs a man who found grace in the eyes of Yah, built a boat and saved a remnant of people. Is it just a story of the past or an invitation for our present? The eyes of Yah were looking then. They are still looking today. Our choice is how we respond.

The attitude we enter into the Torah cycle is of utmost importance. What are we expecting in the coming year? Let’s begin with a paint brush and canvas then use His words to see the beauty of the painting Torah reveals.

The 8th day is a beautiful picture of eternity. The tribes gathered to into Israel further enhances that picture. The message which tied it all together is one people, one destination, one Kingdom document and one King! May each passing day increase our longing for that day!

Sukkot is so much more than an eight-day camping trip or vacation. Sukkot is about our past, our present and our future. It is about the Passover Lamb who will one day reign from Mount Tzyion as the greater son of David.

What is the purpose behind The Feasts? Are they simply events or something far greater? Moshe teaches the Hebrews a final song, but it is a song which will be sung into the Kingdom. What does it teach us about ourselves and about Yah?

Do we really understand who we are an where we were standing before we were yet standing/ To know the answer to those questions is the first steps toward the life of significance we were created for. Does Yah work through every event on this earth? It sure appears so!

Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets is known as a day of sounding shofars, though in Leviticus shofars are not mentioned, or are they? What is this day about? It is just a day to lead us or to remind us? October 7, 2023 and September 11, 2001 tie to this day of soundings.
