They may be two people chatting at a well (John 4), but Jesus crosses an ocean of social, political, and religious divides in speaking with the Samaritan Woman, as she does in speaking with him. Jesus gives her the space to share who she is, and he shares who he is with her. He is the Savior, the Lord, the source of living water.
