Publisher's Summary:
To learn how to die is to learn how to live. With these words, Sogyal Rinpoche introduces us to a wisdom tradition that he calls a sacred technology - Tibetan Buddhism. This best-selling author and spiritual teacher brings the blessings of these ancient teachings directly to a new generation of listeners with Living Well, Dying Well.
Before Tibet fell to the Communist Chinese in the 1950s, it was home to several of this century's most eminent masters of traditional Buddhism. These legendary figures were the personal teachers of Sogyal Rinpoche. They passed on to him the richest of all spiritual treasures: a way to bring kindness and compassion into each action we take, knowing that how we live and die creates the future of our world. Living Well, Dying Well distills Tibetan Buddhism's core teachings about living and dying into one lucid session. This modern classic invites us to face death without fear, knowing that it is like a mirror in which the true meaning of life is ultimately reflected.
Additional contents include life and the fear of death; aging; impermanence: the great truth; two aspects of the mind; three wisdom tools of Buddhism; teachings of Milarepa; care of the dying; finding your true nature; and more.

Ramblings, Ramblings, Ramblings
You can buy Sogyal Rinpoche's excellent book but don't waste money on any of his tapes. He just rambles on aimlessly and pointlessly in the tapes. When he starts to say something important he starts to mumble and talk fast. He is mostly into telling jokes and being entertaining. Save your money especially on this one. This is even worse than his eight audio CD set.
A Waste of Money
I had read "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying." I bought this CD assuming it would add something to the book, but it didn't even manage to bring out the ideas that were in the book. It was just a speech. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't buy it.
An uplifting reminder of some of the tenents and virtues of Tibetan Buddhism
This audio program is a great reminder of the philosophies and teachings in the book The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and of Tibetan Buddhism in general. I have listened to this program hundreds of times over more than twenty years; this program reminds us of how to begin to understand death and its relation to living a good life for yourself and for those around you. There are many facets of Tibetan Buddhism discussed in this audio and for the "uninitiated" it will seem like many sort of disconnected thoughts, but in fact, they all are part of a greater whole. If you know very little of Tibetan Buddhism, this audio program will be an introduction, but even so, progressive thinkers will begin to understand and utilize the logical and provocative ideas presented. And, you do not need to be a practitioner, or a religious person for that matter, to take benefit.
Living, Dying and Laughing Well
It is a wonderful "light" meditation to listen to Sogyal Rinpoche. I gave this CD to my father who does not have a compliment for most things and he was pleased!!!!!!!
Living well dying well by sogyal rinpoche
