Living with Climate Change

A "climate panic attack" may happen when you are consumed by all the dire worst-case scenarios and future projections of climate change, and that is when we need to contemplate —there is only now, and the future is really an illusion.

In this Special Edition, we look at one comprehensive solution to global warming; but is the world prepared to make the changes needed?

In Part 2, we discuss the human aspects of facing climate change and Dr. McPherson’s conclusions of near-term human extinction, and how his message has effected his life personally and professionally. We also discuss the spiritual way of dealing with death and human extinction; and how societies deal with climate change and the best way for scientists to present climate change to the public.

Living with Climate Change addresses the psychological effects abrupt climate change is having on many people, the controversy in climate science, and discussions on science, nature, and human development issues.

I have added more segments to the show:

• News Brief - keeping up with policies and scientific reports

• Climate Action Spotlight - focus on NGOs and others tackling environmental issues

• Guest Interview - talking with scientists, politicians and activists

In Part 1, we discuss the scientific aspects related to Dr. McPherson’s conclusion of near-term extinction occurring within the next decade caused by abrupt climate change. Dr. McPherson addresses our questions of uncertainties in climate models, global dimming and the prospect of geoengineering.

In Episode 7, we look at a poem by the great Sufi mystic Rumi and ruminate its meaning with fears of the future's total collapse of human civilization.

In the first episode of Climate Action Spotlight, we look at the NGO Warm Heart Worldwide and their efforts in reducing air pollution in Northern Thailand.
