Living with HIV: Fighting #HIV Shame
Throughout the series, we'll explore a wide range of topics which will be split into 3 main categories:

Today's topic fits into all three categories

In this episode, we discuss a topic that is still heavily 'taboo' in today's world, and that's the topic of living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Not only did we discuss what HIV/AIDs is, the advancements in HIV treatment/ prevention (such as PrEP), the correct terminology to use and living a healthy life while being positive, but we got to chat about this with someone who is HIV positive themselves.
Today's guest is Nathaniel Hall, who is known for his work as a freelance theatre-maker, writer, performer, director, producer and HIV activist from Manchester. After 15 years of living with HIV in 'secret' and carrying the weight of shame on his shoulders for so long, he decided it was time to tell his story. Being a theatre maker, he decided to 'play' his story on stage in a solo show called 'First Time'.
Nathaniel shares his personal story of being diagnosed with HIV at the age of 16, after his first sexual experience, and the challenges he faced in coming to terms with his diagnosis.
This is a POWERFUL episode! Nathaniel's story serves as a powerful example of resilience and the power of sharing one's truth.
