Today's episode dives into the often misunderstood world of herpes and family life. You wouldnât believe how many people still ask, 'Can you really have a family with herpes?' Spoiler alert: Yes, you absolutely can! We're here to debunk those persistent myths and provide you with the hard facts.
Herpes simplex is far more common than people realize, yet the stigma remains. My goal in this episode is to smash those stigmas, educate, and remind you that having herpes is completely normal. Letâs break down the barriers together and embrace the truth about living with herpes and building a happy, healthy family.
FACTS:
- 80% of Australia's have herpes (HSV 1 or HSV 2)
- 12% of Australian's have genital herpes (HSV 2)
- You do not legally have to disclose that have herpes (but ethically & morally its the right thing to do)
- Herpes is in the same family as chicken pox
To be infected with a herpes virus is therefore a state of normality, not an abnormality. It happens to all adults, some of us with symptoms and some without.
The key thing is not whether you are infected or not, but whether it is causing symptoms or not â and if it is, then what can be done about it.

Today's episode is PART TWO of the ADHD series with Dr Hannah Korrel. Our last episode was a complete beginners guide to unpacking ADHD, and today we dived into the 'darker' side of ADHD and the increased risk taking behaviours that can really negative someone's life. If this is you, you are not alone!
Throughout the series, we'll explore a wide range of topics which will be split into 3 main categories:
1. Vulnerable
2. Challenging
3. Spicy
Today's topic fits into all three categories
Content Warning: This episode may contain discussions about sensitive subjects and adult themes. Listener discretion is advised.
Dr Hannah Korrel is both a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Registered Psychologist and the one thing you will learn about her is that she LOVESSSSS the brain. During this episode, you can hear Dr Hannah's passion for all those 'quirky' brains out there but she also backs it up with insane knowledge behind her including a Masters in Clinical Neuropsychology and PhD in neuroscience from the University of Melbourne.
Due to shame and 'taboo' topics, no-one is talking about risk taking behaviours in ADHD, and this is the epiode where we are opening up and sharing the darker side of an ADHD brain.
