This is the 31st and final episode of the Living with Mary Podcast, which aired for two years. To bring home the honesty, vulnerability, and intimacy I strove for throughout the podcast, this final episode is completely unedited. Living with Mary was my story I needed to share and I am glad I did. I am also very happy YOU were here to listen. In a desire for an ever-deepening relationship with Mother Mary, I share from the book Truly Our Sister by Elizabeth Johnson. In particular, I look at the idealization of Mary and the three main roles she was cast in, the handmaiden, the virgin, and the mother, and the detrimental effects this has had on women. I suggest that by liberating Mary - in our minds - from these roles we can liberate ourselves. I also touch upon Johnson's quest for the historical Mary and positioning her in the communion of saints, but invite us to continue discovering Mary for ourselves.

I start off with a sentence that I don’t celebrate Christmas and end up realizing that I celebrate Christmas all year long! In this episode, I take you to my grandma’s for Christmas and to my husband’s family big, festive Christmas celebrations. I reminisce and inquire how come celebrating Christmas on the 25th of December is not important to me and how I, nevertheless, feel its importance. I end up, where else, but in the arms of Mother Mary who is always guiding me, and all of us, towards more LOVE. Merry Christmas!
