 Text:                      Nehemiah 8:1-3, 5-6, 8-10                            

Title:                      Wrestling With the Bible:  “Rediscovering God’s Word”

Theme:                   The Bible is our Book, the Churches Book. Within its pages lies the story of who we are and what our purpose is. It is a Book of incredible responsibility and un-       yielding hope. It should never be used as a weapon or as a means of scorn or        ridicule, and it should never be taken lightly but seen as the sacred and Holy         Word that it is.

Title:            Road Trip:  “Becoming a Daily Driver”

Theme:         There are 3 types of classic cars; the “trailer queens” which are just trailered from place to place, the “Sunday only driver” which is driven rarely to keep it in classic form, and finally the “daily driver”, which is not perfectly restored so it gets driven and used daily.

                   Is your faith the faith of a “Trailer Queen” a “Sunday only driver” or do you live your faith daily?

It is a gift of God given to his children outlining the history of God’s redeeming grace and at the same time, giving us instruction on how to live this life abundantly. Like classic cars, we regularly need to refer to our “Owners manual”.

Theme:         This series will draw comparisons between classic cars and our spiritual life. This sermon will discuss how we are all like classic cars. God wants to restore us but for that to happen we must recognize our need to be salvaged. Sometimes restoration is painful but it’s well worth it.

Title:            The Making of a Superhero:  Superman? vs Batman? or Both?

Theme:         The church as a whole is envisioned as a charismatic or “gifted” community in which the power of the Holy Spirit is palpably present, operating through the complementary, not competitive, gifts of its members. It takes everyone, pulling together, weaving together and playing together in love and humility in mercy and grace in order to become the living body of Christ.
