Social worker Galina moved to Cardiff from Moldova after meeting Carwyn, who was volunteering for the charity where she worked. They are now married and Galina is learning Welsh while expecting their first child. 

In the second episode of the Liz Learns Welsh Podcast, host Liz Day is joined by Laura Caen Lee. Lecturer and mum-of-three Laura is learning Makaton signs and symbols to communicate with her son Edmund, who has cerebral palsy. She decided to take up Welsh when her twins began classes at school. 

In the first episode of the Liz Learns Welsh Podcast, host Liz Day is joined by Mandy Lewis. Mum-of-three Mandy, who lives in Cheshire and runs her own craft business, started Welsh on Duolingo during lockdown in the summer, before signing up to an intensive online course.
