Thomas Hendy's life spiralled out of control as his drug addiction took hold. He spent years in and out of prison in Ireland and Liverpool, experienced homelessness until his youngest brother died and his beautiful daughter was born. He had such artistic talent which ultimately also paved the way towards a better life which he talked about to Gerry Kelly on Late Lunch.

One of the oldest Dunnes Stores supermarkets in Ireland, on Drogheda's once "Golden Mile" West Street, is set to close imminently. It's another blow for the burgeoning town's main street which is now but a pale shadow of its glorious past.
