Gerry went back to school today! Yes Late Lunch paid a visit to the brand new Ballapousta National School as a new era begins for teachers and pupils alike. Principal Peter Dooley and his Vice Principal Angela O'Hare reflected on a new beginning while Parish Priest Canon Peter Murphy is rightly proud of the state of the art facility which, as he told us, has come a long way. We heard from a number of the talented students and caught up with a famous past pupil, Professor Paul Moynagh, who is also Chairperson of the Board of Management at the school. Gerry Carragher, of the Parish, gave us a rundown on the history of place and school, we enjoyed beautiful ice cream cones and there was one for everyone in the audience!

Hector O'hEochagain, who is on his travels again on TG4 this Thursday, gave us a taste of what to expect and boy it's well worth checking out! Adesiyan Apesin and Tony O'Reilly joined us to discuss gambling addiction and a new service coming onstream in the Northeast. Helen Byrne painted a bleak picture of Balrath Wood, Sinead Burke believes early September is the real New Year and on slowdown day, Caroline Ginnelly remembered her son who died in a road traffic accident.

The school lunch box - no pressure says Deirdre Doyle from the Cool Food School. Milly Byrne started school today and as her mammy Charlene explained its a miracle! It was Gerry's all the way as Gerry Cullen and Gerry O'Connor made sweet music ahead of the Sean Corcoran Series in Drogheda next weekend. The Burke's Sinead and Ciara had plenty to say about what's making news at the moment. David Sheehan previewed the big soccer games at home and in the Premier League at the weekend and it just had to be the Royle Family for comedy as the show marks it's 25th anniversary...

We coasted along to Carlingford this afternoon and popped into the local tourist office where we were warmly welcomed by Yvonne Keenan, Theresa Mackin and Gerry Hoey. Kian Louet Feisser dropped in with some beautiful Carlingford Oysters which Gerry was only too delighted to sample and boy did he like them!! James McKenna of the Four Seasons Hotel, SkyPark's Andrew Ross, Paddy Agnew Carlingford Lough Sea Tours, Ruby Ellen's Tea Rooms Donna McKevitt (buns in tow) and jewellery designer Garrett Mallon all joined us for a chat too.
