Lobbing Scorchers

The streak of Dub Pods has sadly come to an unceremonious end as the Seattle Sounders were blown out 3-0 by LAFC at Lumen Field on Saturday, falling victim to the evil demonic goal-scoring force of nature that is Denis Bouanga. Were the national pundits correct in their prior assessment of Seattle’s improved play of recent weeks being fraudulent? We debate exactly that and more in our game review and Agenda Check.

Later on we take your questions, hit on a couple news items regarding Leagues Cup and the US Open Cup, then discuss winners and losers from around MLS in Matchday 28.

We have our sixth straight dub pod as St. Louis CITY SC became the latest opponent to meet their demise at Lumen Field on Wednesday, falling 2-0 to the Seattle Sounders. Even Jon Bell is getting in on the action these days. We recap the festivities, dive into this week’s Agena Check, debate the merits of this red-hot run of form and preview this Saturday’s blockbuster matchup against LAFC.

Later on, we discuss the historic debut of Philadelphia Union phenom Cavan Sullivan and the winners and losers from the Matchday 27 slate in MLS.

It’s yet another Dub Pod as the Seattle Sounders have once again emerged victorious, this time with a 1-0 victory at Austin FC in Matchday 26. With Noah sidelined due to sickness, Ari lays down a solo pod recapping the win at Q2 Stadium. It was also a banner week for the Agenda Check, as Paul Rothrock and Obed Vargas each picked up an assist on Jordan Morris’s game-winning goal – his ninth in his last 11 games.

Later on in the solo pod Ari gives his take on the USMNT’s firing of Gregg Berhalter, the flawlessly executed work from CONMEBOL at the Copa America final and winners and losers from Matchday 26 in MLS.

It’s a US Open Cup dub pod as the Seattle Sounders topped Sacramento Republic FC 2-1 to advance to the semifinals. What would a run to the USOC final mean for Seattle after years of not living up to their dominant early years in this tournament?

Later on, we discuss Seattle’s reported links to a Croatian winger, have a nice laugh at the Cupset that befell Atlanta United and discuss the most important question of all: Who would Ari be rooting for in a theoretical Open Cup match between the Sounders and his beloved New Mexico United?

It’s yet another dub pod as the Seattle Sounders have emerged victorious once again with Saturday’s 2-0 result over the New England Revolution. We break down Seattle’s latest three-point result, which included another virtuoso performance from the 1-2 punch of Albert Rusnak and Jordan Morris – the hottest duo in MLS at the moment.

Later on, we preview Seattle’s upcoming US Open Cup fixture at Sacramento Republic, then jump around the league with thoughts on the latest comedic defeat for the Philadelphia Union and FC Cincinnati’s demolition of Inter Miami.

It’s an emergency pod as the US men’s national team has crashed out of the Copa America in embarrassing fashion. Do we care about the fate of Gregg Berhalter? Not really, but we lay down our takes on the matter anyway. Other topics include whether this ‘golden generation’ is overrated and who our dream candidates would be to take over on the sidelines.

After our USMNT punditry, there was also another coach firing in MLS, LA Galaxy star Riqui Puig took some screenshots of the preseason predictions and Obed Vargas is reportedly drawing interest from Liga MX clubs.

It’s another Dub Pod as the Seattle Sounders emerged victorious over the Chicago Fire at Lumen Field in Matchday 23. We recap the latest come-from-behind result, which affected multiple agendas, and give our thoughts on Paul Rothrock’s omission from the starting XI.

Elsewhere in MLS, Atlanta United scored one of the craziest goals of the season, while the LA Galaxy and Philadelphia Union find themselves on differing trajectories. Finally, we check in on the US men’s national team’s Copa America campaign, which we regret to report is not going all that well following their group stage defeat to Panama.

There’s no midweek game but the Seattle Sounders certainly gave us plenty to talk about as the star striker and the left back each got (effectively) suspended for this weekend’s match against the Chicago Fire. We break down all the drama in the aftermath of Saturday’s win over FC Dallas and what it all means going forward.

Elsewhere in MLS, we also had a coach firing and some major injury news come out for FC Cincinnati. We round it by regretfully reporting that the USMNT bots unfortunately found themselves in a less than pleased state due to some reports linking Weston McKennie to MLS.

It’s the biggest Dub Pod of the season as Ari and Noah recap the Seattle Sounders’ massive 3-2 comeback victory over FC Dallas at Lumen Field in Matchday 22. Other topics include yet another riveting performance from Paul Rothrock, Raúl Ruidíaz scoring from inside the penalty area(!), Jordan Morris putting the city of Seattle on his back and Obed Vargas hitting a pass of the season front-runner.

That precedes a return to the world of USMNT punditry, with takes on both the US and Canada’s Copa América openers. To wrap it up, there’s also our weekly journey around the wild world of MLS, with takes on the rest of the Matchday 22 slate.
