In this episode of Talking Business, Shelly Peterson -
Founder and CEO of Promoting Me, LLC. and Holly Hansen - Community Development Director for the City of Cloquet are talking about the Hidden Gem of LOC Auto & Weld.
Owners Luke and Elora Carlson opened LOC Auto & Weld in August 2023, located at 1503 Cloquet Avenue (former Pete and Son’s). LOC Auto and Weld offers all automotive services from bumper to bumper, except for alignments and air conditioning, and can order tires (they don’t stock them). They aim to provide quality, affordable, trustworthy services explaining customer options. They also offer welding services. Luke used to work at Ziegler Caterpillar of Duluth, where he gained welding and heavy equipment experience. “Welding is a big opportunity and service that we uniquely provide,” said Carlson. While we were onsite, they had the dunk tank from the Third Base in Carlton, which needed welding repairs. Growing up, his dad lived in Cloquet, and his Mom lived in Duluth, and he and his wife now live in Scanlon with two small children. At a young age, he was exposed to automotive repair services and loved the work. He wanted to begin owning a business to provide a positive customer experience.
