I think I should borrow the #hashtaghistory term of hasty history for this episode. From finding this historical marker and recording was about two hours, and part of that time was me getting a coffee. Some recent life experiences, and reading I had done heavily directed where this went. I don't think I will be this hasty again as I am not sure it was all together one thought, my apologies. Through previous historical markers we have learned about Judge Joseph B Amidon and his son William who were pioneering homesteaders in the budding Sioux Falls City and were killed by Native American warriors in 1862. We know Sioux Falls was soon evacuated, but first, they buried the bodies, so how are the bodies now missing? Lets read a few historical markers and piece together what we can, but I will let you know right now... The Amidon's are missing.

This historical marker is an introduction to Philander Prescott.  His name will come back up a few times in future historical markers, so after this you will know who they are talking about, because I don't know about you but I had never heard of this guy.
