LOCAL: Pipestone 11-under baseball team qualifies for state
By virtue of winning the Pipestone Tournament championship, Pipestone has qualified for the 11-under state tournament set for Brooklyn Park on July 26-27. The tournament was conducted the Paulsen Athletic Complex. Pipestone defeated Luverne, 8-7, in extra innings — and followed that with a 4-0 victory over Montevideo. Here's the squad (in no particular order): Blake Einck, Connor Thode, Elliott Sterud, Emmett Bleyenberg, Gracen Tibbs, Greyden Douty, Jaxen Christensen, Kason Bosma, Liam Schrecengost, Luis Quilantan and Murphy Legler. Jeff Einck, Jason Christensen, Brady Legler and Scott Sterud coach the team.
