SAUK RAPIDS — The Pipestone Area Schools’ ninth-grade boys basketball team reached the championship game at the Pacesetter State Tournament. The event was conducted on Sunday, March 29, at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. Duluth Denfield topped Pipestone, 52-49, in a hard-fought title contest. Pipestone defeated Battle Lake, 51-34, in the first round and then Perham, 42-34, in the semifinals. The Pipestone ninth-grade squad featured Blake Bosma, Carson Van Hoecke, Caden Bruns, Bryer Evans, Benett Wiese, Adrian Caskey, Kelby Lanners and Ryker Beyers.
