Jim Schaub, President of the Richland County Fair Board, previewed the 2021 Fair, which gets underway on Sunday, August 8th and runs through the 14th. This is the 171st Richland County Fair and Jim said they are excited to "Welcome everyone back", as last year it was not open to the public due to COVID-19.

Ashland University graduate Katie Nageotte won the gold medal in the Pole Vault on Thursday at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

WMAN caught up with Ashland University Track and Field coach Jud Logan right after Katie won the medal, who said going into the event " Katie is one of the best in the world in the Pole Vault.

Logan, a 4 time Olympian, and is in his 26th year at AU as Track and Field coach. Nageotte is from the Cleveland area.

Tim Stried, Director of Communications with the OHSAA, spent sometime with WMAN to discuss the expanded football playoffs. Tim will share why went to 16 teams, how the format will work and updates on other fall sports, as practices are underway statewide ahead of the upcoming season.
