Hi there, a quick update from Luke on Local Trouble - we've moved to our parent feed at One Sensational Shot. We'll still keep talking Star Wars, but it's way easier to manage one feed. We've chatted at 20 years of the Phantom Menace, remembered Peter Mayhew, and asked 'is Anakin the Chosen One?'.

James returns from watching the London Symphony Orchestra put in a sterling performance of the original Star Wars film's score live in concert at the Royal Albert Hall. 

We chat about what makes the score so powerful live as well as covering the latest Darth Vader release from Marvel and Resistance from Lucasfilm Animation.

We are all standing on the shoulders of giants. And Gary Kurtz was a giant. He worked with George Lucas on American Graffiti, one of the greatest films ever made. And then he worked on Star Wars - one of the other greatest films ever made.

He helped to define the Force, he helped to manage the deals that meant George got to do business the way he wanted to.

We remember his wonderful legacy on this podcast. And yes, the Wheelers from Walter Murch's Return to Oz get a mention.

Back in 1978, when The Empire Strikes Back was simply called 'Star Wars II', sci-fi author Leigh Brackett handed George Lucas a first draft of the script that was very different to the movie we'd see on screen. Many of the main story beats remain in her first take on the film, but character, motivation and parental revelations are quite different.

We take a look at the Star Wars sequel that could have been and honour the work of the late Leigh Brackett. 

Luke and James also catch up on Marvel's excellent current run of Darth Vader comics with a look at #21, and anticipate the upcoming Star Wars: Resistance in its primary-coloured glory.

A couple of weeks is a long time in Star Wars land. Now we have a new Star Wars animated show on the way pretty soon, along with a whole new move in three weeks. Luke goes back in time to 1979 to see what Lucas may have been thinking about the Han Solo character, which might propel the new Ron Howard film. We also talk 'Star Wars: Resistance', because that's a thing now.
