With Dre Kirkpatrick on a visit with the New Orleans Saints, it's clear the team still views the position as a need. On today's episode of Locked On Saints Ross Jackson breaks down the potential signing for three angles.

The player: Who is Dre Kirkpatrick and does the signing make sense from a player and financial perspective?

The fit: is Kirkpatrick a schematic fit for the team and Dennis Allen's defense? Does he replace Janoris Jenkins enough to be immediately considered the cornerback 2 opposite Marshon Lattimore.

The position: How would this signing affect the position group with young players like Paulson Adebo vying for a shot. And would the Saints be done addressing the position if Kirkpatrick is indeed signed?

The Atlanta Falcons traded WR Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and now the New Orleans Saints will feel the impact from multiple angles. No more Julio Jones, but a new test is on the horizon and how the Saints must defend it. What the Jones trade means for the Saints in matching up with the Falcons in 2021.

The trade also shakes things up in the NFC South. The Falcons now have the resources to sign their draft class and add some pieces. Will they do so effectively? Or can the Saints increase distance with some offseason moves of their own? The NFC South now looks most assuredly like a two-team race.

What the Saints can do throughout the rest of the offseason to prepare for what Atlanta might add with their newly found cap dollars and why Julio ending up in Tennessee could possibly open up a chance to for a hometown favorite to hit the market.
