The Arizona State Sun Devils football program was served up a good old-fashioned butt whoopin' by the Oregon State Beavers football team this past weekend, and like it or not we have to have a discussion about it. It felt like the team had mailed in this game before it started knowing that hAte week was happening, but that doesn't excuse the poor play we saw across the team during this performance. The offense outside of Xazavian Valladay was nonexistent and the defense was rolled over repeatedly by both the Beavers' run and pass games. For Shaun Aguano and the Sun Devils, they have quite a bit of figuring out to do as they prepare to face off with the Arizona Wildcats this weekend, and host Richie Bradshaw is here to discuss that before we flush this game and forget it from our memory on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

The expectations for Arizona State Sun Devils basketball are typically never that high, but we do prefer to be competitive and make it to the NCAA Tournament. Those expectations have eluded Bobby Hurley and the Sun Devils as of late the last few seasons, but the team is off to a hot start for 2022-2023 and it has us VERY excited. Now at 4-1 on the year, the Sun Devils are coming off a smoke show victory over the #20 Michigan Wolverines basketball program to the tune of 87-62. That 25-point win is the largest margin over a ranked opponent in the history of the Arizona State Sun Devils basketball program! Arizona State did it offensively, shooting over 60% from the field and over 50% from deep with show-stopping performances from guys like Desmond Cambridge, D.J. Horne, and Austin Nunez. The Sun Devils' defense was equally impressive to match, holding a high-scoring Wolverines' offense to under 20% shooting deep and just 33.9% from the field thanks to big defensive nights from guys like Warren Washington and Duke Brennan. With the way these guys performed against top-level competition, host Richie Bradshaw is barely able to contain his excitement for this Arizona State Sun Devils basketball team and takes this episode of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast to explain why you should've, too.

The Arizona State Sun Devils won their first of two games in the Legends Classic vs the VCU Rams last night and now have a chance for a statement win not only for the Classic but for the 2022-2023 season against the #20 Michigan Wolverines. For the Sun Devils, their start to the 2022-2023 campaign has been a solid one at 3-1, and quite frankly even a 3-2 start with a solid performance against the Wolverines would be an awesome "feel-good" for the team. However, the Sun Devils have a chance to pull off this win and it could jump-start a magical season for the team. A win over an annual NCAA Tournament contender and currently ranked team would be huge for the Sun Devils' confidence moving forward. It would also give the team a signature win prior to the start of conference play. Host Richie Bradshaw breaks down the team's win over VCU and then about how to beat Michigan and what the win would mean on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

Flu season is upon us and stricken host Richie Bradshaw the last week. However, with all that time on his hands, we sat down and got to thinking hard about the 2022 season for Arizona State Sun Devils football. It was unkind to players and fans, to put it softly, but was it always supposed to be this difficult? The odds seemed like they were stacked against the Sun Devils before the season even started after losing so many players to the 2022 NFL Draft, the NCAA Transfer Portal, and simply from a loss of playing eligibility. The Herm Edwards era of Arizona State Sun Devils football was at a crossroads and many were ready to take the road without him, which came much sooner than anticipated thanks to a week three loss to the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Running backs coach Shaun Aguano took over as the team's interim head coach and so began a confusing and uncertain time for Arizona State Sun Devils football. Now at 3-7 and eliminated from bowl eligibility, the Sun Devils have just two games remaining for 2022 and little to play for other than pride. Join us as we talk about how this season was always going to be a difficult one for Arizona State Sun Devils football.

There's no better way to start off your season than with a win, even if it was one full of flaws that need to be corrected sooner rather than later. That is exactly the case for Arizona State Sun Devils basketball following the team's 2022-2023 season-opener against Tarleton State. A 62-59 final was played as close as the box score indicates, with the Sun Devils shooting just 33.9% as a team and under 50% from the free-throw line. This game could've been a much more comfortable win if they shot better, but it also could've been a loss had the defense not played as well as it did. Head coach Bobby Hurley wasn't thrilled by the win and neither were his players, but at least the team is starting off 2022-2023 on the right foot. Tune in to this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast as host Richie Bradshaw discusses all the things that went right and wrong for the Arizona State Sun Devils basketball victory, including the debuts of transfers like Frankie Collins and the return of Marcus Bagley, plus what the team needs to continue building upon moving forward.

The Arizona State Sun Devils football team was never supposed to beat the #UCLA12 Bruins football program, but that didn't stop them from playing their hearts out. In a 50-36 defeat for the Sun Devils, we feel incredibly deflated about the team moving forward. Arizona State Sun Devils football needs to win out in order to be bowl eligible for the 2022 season now sitting at 3-6, but that's not what should be on our minds. No, instead of wondering what the Sun Devils need to do to win football games, host Richie Bradshaw issues a challenge to Sun Devils fans, students, alumni, and the like: Commit yourself to this team. Nobody likes to lose, but if you think that actively quitting on the team is helping anything, it's not. Tune in to this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast as Richie Bradshaw discusses his thoughts about the current state of the fan base and what they need to do as the 2022 season for Arizona State Sun Devils football comes to a close.

We are just a few short days away from tip-off to the start of the 2022-2023 college basketball season for Arizona State Sun Devils basketball and that means it's time to set some expectations. Should Sun Devils fans be excited about this year's team or should they be giving up already? While there are tons of reasons to be excited about the team ranging from the return of Marcus Bagley to the next full season of D.J. Horne to some incoming transfers and final seasons from some of the team's leading seniors, there remains one small caveat holding us back - Bobby Hurley. With just three winning seasons and one NCAA Tournament appearance to his name in seven seasons, year eight will be his most crucial yet, and failing to make waves could result in his termination from the program. Tune in as host Richie Bradshaw sets some expectations for the 2022-2023 Arizona State Sun Devils basketball team on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

More often than not, the better team wins the game. More often than not, the team who executes better wins the game. More often than not, good triumphs over evil. Well, not this time. As the newly ranked #12 UCLA Bruins football team travels down to Tempe, Arizona this weekend to face the faltering 3-5 Arizona State Sun Devils football squad, it's time to start embracing a supervillain mentality if you're Arizona State Sun Devils football. The Bruins may be the better team for 364 days of 2022, but they won't be on Saturday, November 5, 2022. No, instead the Arizona State Sun Devils football team is going to need to come out with a "we're better than you" mentality, even though it isn't true and everyone knows it. Host Richie Bradshaw knows this, but he still thinks it could be possible by simply believing it and manifesting it, and speaking it into existence. Join us as we break down how Arizona State Sun Devils football pulls off a major college football upset this weekend by doing the most unconventional things possible on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

After handing out some game balls for the top performers during Arizona State Sun Devils football's victory over the Colorado Buffalos football team, it's time to sit back and assess what we saw and learned from this game. As we look at what went right, the vast majority falls on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Trenton Bourguet excelled in his first career college start and his weapons like Elijah Bader and Jalin Conyers were absotluely humming in rhythm while running back Xazavian Valladay continued to run his way through opposing defenses. Conversely, the defense's efforts in this game could have been better. A Colorado Buffalos offense that had scored 20 points in a game just twice this year went off for 34 and while it was ugly more often times than not, there are still several attributes that must be improved. Join us as host Richie Bradshaw breaks down all the rights and wrongs that went on for the Arizona State Sun Devils football team on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.
