Locked On Suns - Daily Podcast On The Phoenix Suns

Even though Devin Booker returned to the Suns' starting lineup, it wasn't enough as the 7th straight loss is now on the board. Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry led Toronto in the second half as they put their foot on the gas.

Deandre Ayton had a productive night posting 17 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks on 7-10 FGA. Should the Suns' No. 1 pick become more of a focal point in the offense?

We also ran through Igor Kokoskov's rotation changes as the schedule now gets even tougher over their November stretch.

On today’s episode, we recap the Suns’ 120-90 loss at home to the Spurs, the sixth straight blowout loss for this young squad following an uplifting home win to start the year.

Despite the loss, the youngsters continue to stand out. This game marked Elie Okobo’s first career start, and two other rookies, Mikal Bridges and De’Anthony Melton, got extended run as well. Will playing through them be the way the Suns turn this around?

Finally, two stats to watch as we head toward the weekend, with two more home games awaiting.

On today’s episode, we get you ready for the Suns’ battle on Halloween night against the new-look San Antonio Spurs at home with Jeff Garcia of News 4 San Antonio and Locked On Spurs.

Without Devin Booker, the Suns will have an uphill battle to handle DeMar DeRozan’s scoring. It will take a big night from Deandre Ayton, who has his own tough matchup against LaMarcus Aldridge inside.

The Spurs, however, come off two straight wins and somehow have maintained solid play without three projected rotation guards, winning in overtime Monday night against Dallas.

We go through all the news with each team and finish with predictions for Wednesday’s game.

On today’s episode, we discuss the reasons for low minutes totals for Mikal Bridges, De’Anthony Melton and Elie Okobo thus far in the young season.

Bridges has statistically been a huge boon for the Suns’ efficiency each time he has stepped on the floor, but coach Igor Kokoskov insists he wants to use him only as a spark off the bench. What gives?

Okobo and Melton, on the other hand, were inactive against the Lakers as they made way for Jamal Crawford to see his first extended run of the year. Is there any chance they see the floor soon?

The Lakers defeated the Suns 131-113, but it wasn't even that close. Many warning signs showed through, but we tried to also take away some positives as well.

Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton did well, Booker left with a hamstring injury, but nothing else around them worked outside of Mikal Bridges.

Will Igor Kokoskov finally change the rotations after another blowout?

There definitely will need to be something happening moving forward with a brutal stretch of games coming up.

T.J. Warren has been far and away the most impressive Sun over three games, but who else has stood out?

And on the other side, it’s been tough not to be disappointed in Ryan Anderson’s start to the year, but there has been plenty of bad to go around.

On today’s episode, we recap the Suns’ 119-91 loss to the Denver Nuggets, which wasn’t as terrible as the score would indicate.

Between poor shooting, poor transition defense, too many turnovers and foul trouble for Deandre Ayton, there were plenty of issues for the Suns on Saturday night.

But most of the problems were fixable — stuff that a good coach can fix and hardworking players can overcome. We talk about the difference between struggling and growing in our recap.
