Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have finished last in the AFC South for two straight years and if they want to turn things around, winning in the division is a good place to start. Starting at the top with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a big reason the Titans can gain ground is because the Jags had an awful offseason. Possibly the worst in the NFL. Resting on their laurels and going against the grain made a controversial few months for Jaguars brass. Tony Wiggins from Locked On Jaguars joins the show to give his perspective on the team's offseason and what he's expecting from his squad after a division crown last year. Finally, Tyler thinks the Titans can split the matchup this year and get one on the Jaguars as they regress after an excellent first tour under Liam Coen. The rosters matchup in a way that could give the Titans some real advantages.

The Tennessee Titans hired Robert Saleh to turn things around, but heading into Year 1 of his tenure he sits at the bottom of the AFC South rankings. Saleh will need to prove he can climb up as he brings the Titans with him. If Saleh finishes the season not in the last spot, that is a big win for the Titans. On defense, the defensive tackle spot clearly goes to the Titans. With Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers, it isn't close. However, that is the last spot where the Titans rank first on defense, but by the end of the season it would not be unrealistic to think the Titans could take first at linebacker and safety.

The Tennessee Titans are focused on climbing the AFC South as a team, but at each individual spot they need to make moves as well. Specifically, at quarterback where Cam Ward needs to move up the rankings from the bottom to near the top and with everything that has been changed, he's prime to do it. Helping the cause will be Carnell Tate and his fellow wide receivers. If there is any position the Titans have climbed up with this offseason, it's the wideouts. Hopefully, the running game can aid in that as well with the Titans running back group being one of the better in the division. Tight end rankings could look very different by year's end as well if Gunnar Helm breaks out. The issue for the Titans is the offensive line is still ranked last and there isn't much hope for that to change by the end of the season.

The Tennessee Titans are taking a gauntlet approach to the 2026 preseason, locking in joint practices with all three exhibition opponents: the 49ers, Seahawks, and Bears. We break down why matching up against these physical, elite defenses is exactly what quarterback Cam Ward needs to accelerate his development heading into a crucial Year 2.

Jeffery Simmons is the second-best defensive player in the NFL so disrespect is the only thing you can take from his ranking of 83rd in this year's NFL Top 100. Yes the system is flawed and rankings don't ultimately matter, but it's a frustratingly insane ranking and further illustrates how the Titans get taxed in any public setting. That is why it is so important they turn things around starting this season. It has been unbearable as a fan for the team to not only be lacking in on-field success, but to also deal with a lack of respect for the players who actually deserve it. Titans fans everywhere need this to change immediately. Finally, one of the big things that has Titans fans excited for this year are the new uniforms, but there is still more to come with Nike dropping their rivalry sets later this summer. We may have gotten a sneak peek though in the form of some shoes. If close in design, the new rivalry uniforms are certain to be a hit.

Tennessee Titans legend Chris Johnson made a tragic announcement this week that rallied the entire football community behind, but of course there has to be someone to make it about them and we saw that this week with Dan Lebatard's comments criticizing the interview. This is typical behavior from a well-respected media voice, but with a Titans legend involve it does strike a nerve. Now is not the time to use this as a tool against the NFL. Also, there are some big mysteries the Titans are facing as they look at the roster. On offense, the starting offensive line is still up for grabs and the depth at offensive tackle is still shaky. Add in depth questions at tight end and you still have a lot to figure out. On defense, outside of the trenches, there is no certainty on any of the depth at any of the spots in the back seven.

The Tennessee Titans have a lot of players who get a lot of attention like Cam Ward, Carnell Tate and Jeffery Simmons, but there are some very important players who simply don't get as much fanfare as they deserve -- like Chimere Dike. Dike was an all-pro last year as a rookie as a returner and showed flashes as a receiver. With an improved offense and personal improvement, Dike could become one of the top gamebreakers in the NFL. Staying on offense, Tony Pollard, Daniel Bellinger and Austin Schlottman are other names that probably need more attention than they have been getting. On defense, Solomon Thomas, Tony Adams and Jacob Martin will be much more important to this team than people realize.

The Tennessee Titans world got rocked on Monday morning when franchise legend Chris Johnson revealed his ALS diagnosis with the world. Johnson was a true Titan and led the team to some of it's best moments in franchise history including a #1 seed in the AFC and an all-time season with over 2,500 total yards. Johnson's announcement is heartbreaking, but it's times like these where we must honor and cherish the joy he gave us. Also, Tyler continues his 53-man roster prediction for the summer with the defensive side of the ball. On the line, the Titans will stack numbers so the rotation may be as strong as the scheme requires. At linebacker, the Titans have a group of five players that make sense even if there could be some change soon. In the secondary, there isn't a real reason to keep many of the players in the depth roles and it is likely that the people who take these spots aren't on the roster yet.

The Tennessee Titans are a long way from roster cut down day in August, but it is never a bad time for some ROSTER PREDICITONS. The biggest roster question on offense comes at wide receiver where Xavier Restrepo's impressive offseason has earned him a roster spot in the exercise, but it does make the math complicated.  On the offensive line, the Titans don't have a lot of good answers to their questions which means raw numbers will be key and we could see the Titans keep nearly ten players there. Finally, in the backfield, the Titans could go light on numbers and that would mean Will Levis is cut or traded. That has been Tyler's expectation, but a lackluster offseason makes it more likely.

The Tennessee Titans paid Alontae Taylor $20 million a year when they signed him in free agency and they didn't do so because they planned to play him in the slot often. Taylor has said publicly and his contract also says he will play on the outside. If that wasn't enough, Taylor announced himself this week that he is a 'Full Time Corner' even further establishing the plan for his usage despite recent uncertainty due to misread Robert Saleh comments. Taylor will certainly start on the outside for the Titans defense, but what about the rest of the unit? Tyler gives his projected starters while also discussing where the Titans could make a trade or signing to bolster the roster. Finally, Week 1 seems far away now, but it will be here before you know it and the New York Jets will be more of a formidable unit than some are expecting.
