Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans first round pick has been discussed at length, but as the days go by Rueben Bain begins to make a comeback in the heart's of Titans fans and the recent chatter on Bain makes it impossible to ignore his fit with the Titans. When discussing additions in the tranches though it is also impossible to ignore the massive need on the offensive line. Somehow, the Titans O-Line situation has gotten significantly worse this offseason and that makes it an even bigger need as the draft approaches. The Titans may have to consider taking an interior offensive lineman much earlier than originally anticipated, but should also look to add some tackle depth later as well.

The Tennessee Titans could take Jeremiyah Love at the top of the first round and if they do, Tony Pollard will likely be cut, but the fact is the Titans should not make that kind of decision until they know whether they are drafting Love or not. Pollard may lack juice at the position, but he is still a serviceable back who could fill in fine on the last year of his deal. If Love is drafted though, expect Pollard to be cut. Tyjae Spears is also a good back, but it's proven that he cannot be counted on. Kalel Mullings and Julius Chestnut should be looked at as special teams depth at this point. At tight end, with Daniel Bellinger and Kyler Granson added to Gunnar Helm, the Titans likely have what they need at the position. Add in David Martin-Robinson and it seems clear the Titans are going with a heavy approach at that spot and should inform what we expect from the offense.

The Tennessee Titans signed Wan'Dale Robinson and brought back Calvin Ridley so far this offseason, but wide receiver is still a massive need as the reality is this is still one of the worst groups in the NFL. Drafting a wide receiver in the first three rounds is an absolute must for the Titans as they need to keep building out the group. That puts the focus on what already exists and while Ridley and Robinson are good, they aren't more than low to mid number two receivers. Elic Ayomanor and Chim Dike also can take steps forward, but it is hard to see either becoming a true dominant alpha receiver like the Titans need. Backend depth like Xavier Restrepo, Bryce Oliver and Mason Kinsey are also guys who should not be factored in too heavily.

The Tennessee Titans have three quarterbacks on the roster including Will Levis and they will not be how the Week 1 roster looks. The cleanest solution would be to trade Levis, which will happen, but the best return for a trade might be one that happens in the preseason. That leaves time for young players to fail, injuries to happen and Levis to raise his stock by playing well in exhibitions. Regardless, Cam Ward is the Titans franchise quarterback and everyone in the building needs to be doing whatever they can to make sure he develops. That is why Mitch Trubisky is the clear QB2 and should be the obvious backup going into the season.

The Tennessee Titans are still the favorites to take Jeremiyah Love with their first round pick, but what they do AFTER LOVE is just as important. Adding playmakers on both sides of the ball is critical and going after a speed rusher on Day 2 will become a requirement as well as getting a physical target for Cam Ward. After doing so, the Titans need to take a similar approach to their start to Day 3 in 2025 and attack the offensive line at all three spots. Hitting center, guard and tackle gives them much needed depth to develop. Finally, the Titans will throw darts on Day 3 of the draft, but now they don't have to go after cornerback and linebacker with the amount of depth they have at each position with the signing of Mohamaud Diabate.

The Tennessee Titans have added nearly 20 new players to the roster over the past few weeks which creates questions about what role each player is expected to fill. There are big questions in the secondary specifically with Alontae Taylor and Cor'Dale Flott, but both players clarified their projected roles on Wednesday when talking to the media and it sets a clear expectation of what we will see early on. On the defensive line, things get a little more complicated as plenty of the new additions like John Franklin-Myers and Solomon Thomas has versatility that allows them to line up in a variety of places, but that confusion is a plus for the Titans not a negative. On offense, things are more clearly defined for a guy like Wan'Dale Robinson who will spend the majority of his time in the slot.

The Tennessee Titans have been linked to Jeremiyah Love at an alarming rate. Things in the NFL aren't usually this telegraphed, but there is one NFL insider who is pushing back on the pairing. ESPN's Adam Schefter said on his podcast recently that he does not think Jeremiyah Love is in the running for the Titans at pick #4 and it has caused quite the stir. Schefter is very plugged in, but at the same time, no man's word is bond. If the Titans did pass on Love though, what options would make the most sense? The edge is still where to expect the Titans to pivot with names like Arvell Reese, David Bailey and Rueben Bain.

FREE AGENCY GRADES: The Tennessee Titans have made countless moves in free agency at this point and the big signings of Wan'Dale Robinson, John Franklin-Myers and Alontae Taylor all should get high grades. Even the lesser discussed additions like Cor'Dale Flott, Daniel Bellinger and Mitch Trubisky should be looked at favorably. However, the moves on the offensive line cannot be met with excitement, especially the Titans most recent signing of Austin Deculus at swing tackle. This should leave Titans fans with considerable concern.

The Tennessee Titans have become the favorites to take Jeremiyah Love in the first round. Every well-known draft analyst like Mel Kiper, Daniel Jeremiah, Todd McShay and Dan Brugler all have mocked Love to the Titans in their most recent update. This could just be a logical pick and Love would make a lot of sense for the Titans. However, this also has the potential to be an elaborate smokescreen by one of the teams ahead of the Titans or the Titans themselves to entice a trade up for the talented runner. If that happens, there is no way it doesn't benefit the Titans in some way.

The Tennessee Titans are now in crisis mode on the offensive line after Wyatt Teller was signed by the Houston Texans. This means that re-signing Kevin Zeitler is an absolute must as there are no good options remaining at the position and there are two massive holes to fill. That includes at center, where the Titans have a mystery on their hands that Austin Schlottmann and Jackson Slater seem to be the answers to. Outside of that, Edge still remains a massive need especially for a speed rusher, but wide receiver also remains a big focus along with cornerback despite the three signings in free agency. After that, nothing else can be considered a massive need, but help at linebacker is still something that is needed.
