Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are hoping for big improvements in 2026 and Tyler thinks they come, but not quite as big of a leap as some fans are hoping for. Six wins seem like the right number as this team may get off to a slow start and hit adversity early on. Wins may be hard to come by, but after the bye week, the Titans should be able to finish strong. Six wins is not a great year in comparison with the rest of the NFL, but coming off two years with a total of six wins, it has to be a step in the right direction and should be viewed as a win. This also still gives the Titans a chance at a high draft pick in a talent class.

The Tennessee Titans head into 2026 with optimism, but if things go wrong there is no doubt how it will look. Cam Ward will certainly have a terrible year and Robert Saleh's defensive expertise will not have the immediate impact we all thought. Not what you want to see, but hard to imagine things going bad without those two factors. Who could be the Titans surprise player that even shocks the fans? Chim Dike and Femi Oladejo are on a short list. What is the confidence in the Titans Week 1 against the New York Jets? Hard to know how it will go right now. Answering those and more questions on a final mailbag before the season kicks off!

The Tennessee Titans season is right around the corner and it is time for PREDICTIONS. It isn't much of a hot take to say Cam Ward will be the team's MVP, but predicting his stat line for the season is more difficult to project. Carnell Tate on the other hand will be considered a disappointment even though he can still have a solid season statistically. On defense, Jeffery Simmons should be able to have another double-digit sack season as the defense's MVP, but Kevin Winston stepping up among the young players and making multiple interceptions in the backend would help the cause. Finally, Tyler takes a shot at predicting the stat line for the Titans top weapons like Calvin Ridley, Wan'Dale Robinson and Tony Pollard.

If you want to be optimistic about the Tennessee Titans there are clear paths to doing so whether you want to use logic or data. The data suggests the Titans performance in the preseason joint practices means wins are coming, but there are other data points that support the Titans as well. If you want logic, the Titans deliver there too as all the improvements and the difficult training camp could make for a surprise season ahead. Finally, we got injury updates on the Titans first round picks with Carnell Tate missing practice and Keldrick Faulk getting back out there.

The Tennessee Titans had fans hype on Sunday when they kept fan favorite Xavier Restrepo on the initial roster, but just one day later Restrepo was cut and while others who are worse players sit on the roster it is hard to accept. Three other players, all on defense, got cut as the roster gymnastics continue. Now that we see where the Titans roster is at, it makes to look at the biggest weaknesses and cornerback immediately stands out. The Titans must add more there. Offensive tackle is another spot that deserves some attention. Finally, the Titans are looking to create their practice squad and some of the familiar young names we expected are likely on the list like Hank Beatty and Bishop Fitzgerald.

The Tennessee Titans cut Will Levis as part of their mandated roster trim and it was a move that was best for both parties. Holding on to Levis to see if a trade could materialize was smart, but having Levis around isn't what is best for Cam Ward's development or for Levis himself. Xavier Restrepo also made the roster after being an undrafted free agent last year. Restrepo's journey is commendable and even if his status doesn't last, this is an awesome moment and keeping him around is best for Ward as well. As the roster was cut down to 53 we saw the Titans part ways with unexpected names on offense like Bryce Oliver and Cordell Volson, leaving questions about special teams and offensive line depth. On defense, the Titans should be looking for depth in the secondary off of cuts as the talent is thin in the backend and some interesting decisions were made in the front seven.

Tennessee Titans wrapped up the preseason against the Chicago Bears. It was the final chance for several players to make a last impression on the coaching staff before roster cut day, including quarterback Will Levis. We discuss head coach Robert Saleh's decision to sit the starters and debate who's in and who's off the roster.

The Tennessee Titans performed well in their scrimmage against the Chicago Bears led by Carnell Tate who had seven catches, two touchdowns and multiple big plays. After a quiet stretch, this is exactly what you wanted to see from Tate in the last high-profile reps of training camp. Cam Ward and others also had nice days including the defensive line in a tough matchup. The preseason game will be taking place on Saturday night and there are many battles still ongoing. Especially at wide receiver where Xavier Restrepo is hoping to make this roster. On defense, the depth battles take place at every spot and there are many names pushing for a job on each level.

The Tennessee Titans face their final preseason exam this weekend as they have joint practice and a preseason game with the Chicago Bears. Chicago comes in very banged up from an injury standpoint which means the Titans should have a mixture of backups in starting roles to bully on their way to getting back on the right track. This is the last chance for the Titans to sharpen up before the games count. Injuries mixed with areas of vulnerability, but a nice talent floor makes the Bears the perfect team for the job. One of those areas of vulnerability on the Bears is the defense. Secondary injuries and pass rush talent issues make them a unit Cam Ward and company can have success on, including Carnell Tate, who could have a massive bounce back. The Titans defensive line will be challenged the most as the Bears protection is solid. Caleb Williams also presents a difficult challenge to the defensive line. In the secondary, the Bears have enough weapons to challenge the backend and test their rules, likely to break some.
