Locked On Wolves - Daily Podcast On The Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards is one of the best young players in the league. But a recent survey conducted by Hoops Hype found that there are several front offices that would rank Edwards far lower among players to start a franchise with than one might expect. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) shares his disbelief with the survey, including where the Minnesota Timberwolves star should be ranked. Plus, a dive into two veteran players likely to be on the fringes of head coach Chris Finch's rotation.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the deepest rosters in franchise history, and that means that their rookies may not see the floor very often. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) breaks down rookies Josh Minott and Wendell Moore Jr. and what they can bring to the table, as well as whether or not they'll get the chance to see any run this season. Plus, a look at Nate Knight and whether or not he can crack head coach Chris Finch's rotation, potentially stealing minutes away from Naz Reid.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are set up to be one of the NBA's best teams over the next three years, but where, exactly, do they fall in the "future power rankings" hierarchy? Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) debates the answer, as well as which teams definitely shouldn't be ranked ahead of the Wolves, given the young star power of Anthony Edwards, the win-now impact of Rudy Gobert, and a bit of both in Karl-Anthony Towns.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jaylen Nowell will garner votes for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award this year. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) explains that Nowell's increase in opportunity, steady production, and impact on winning will allow him to showcase his scoring talents. Plus, Nowell's numbers alongside Karl-Anthony Towns last year are an encouraging sign pointing toward what he should be able to do this season, both with Towns and Rudy Gobert.

In case you hadn't noticed, the Cleveland Cavaliers are being universally praised for landing Donovan Mitchell in a massive trade, while the Minnesota Timberwolves' acquisition of Rudy Gobert was largely panned. Why is that? Gobert is the better player, and the Wolves gave up only slightly more than the Cavs. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) attempts to break down the lazy analysis by many analysts while explaining that the Timberwolves' roster is actually deeper than the Cavaliers'.

Now that the Utah Jazz have traded Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers, how does the Minnesota Timberwolves' acquisition of Rudy Gobert look in comparison? Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) explains why the Cavs didn't have to give up all that much more than the Wolves did in the Gobert trade, and why the Jazz won't be the worst team in the Western Conference this year. Also, the league still isn't giving the Wolves enough credit for their offseason.

Also, the Iowa Wolves traded for former lottery pick Nik Stauskas. Finally, Taurean Prince was reportedly arrested -- what is his current standing in the Timberwolves' rotation and how might it change if he misses time this season?
