Locked On Wolves - Daily Podcast On The Minnesota Timberwolves

Apparently, the entire NBA is mad at the Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz for the Rudy Gobert trade. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) talks about why it's just sour grapes, and the rest of the league needs to get over it. Also, Josh Minott signed a deal with the Wolves after a strong showing at Las Vegas Summer League. How might the Timberwolves fill their final roster spot and their two-way slots?

The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to fill out their roster with veteran contributors, signing well-rounded and well-traveled guard Austin Rivers to a minimum contract. As the backcourt starts to become crowded, what will head coach Chris Finch's rotation look like when the season begins? Does this signing make sense? Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) breaks down the Rivers addition, as well as some thoughts on Wendell Moore Jr., Josh Minott, Kevon Harris, and Terrell Brown Jr. in Las Vegas Summer League.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a deep and versatile roster, and head coach Chris Finch will have a variety of options this fall when it comes to his rotation. He'll have the ability to play big or go small with an impressive array of shooters, as the Wolves front office clearly identified some bench lineup combinations that worked well last year. An under-the-radar free agency acquisition should be a plug-and-play option to replace a former Wolves player who was jettisoned this offseason.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a couple of roles they're still looking to fill this offseason, and rookies Wendell Moore Jr. and Josh Minott just might be auditioning for them in Las Vegas Summer League. Who will take the energetic frontcourt role now that Jarred Vanderbilt is gone? What about the final wing rotation spot and the third-string point guard job? Will the Wolves fill them internally based in part on summer performance, or will they add veterans? Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) breaks down the questions in light of summer league play thus far.

Don't worry about Rudy Gobert's fit in the Minnesota Timberwolves' offense -- it will be far more natural than many seem to believe. There will be plenty of options with both Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns on the floor, and the offense won't have any limitations that the Wolves aren't already familiar with. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) breaks down Gobert's fit on offense, plus the Bryn Forbes signing and where the Wolves' new-look depth chart currently stands.
