But there were some notable missteps as well, particularly on the day before and how many people could access signature events. Kay and host Howard Megdal break all of it down, looking at what needs to change and what areas the league succeeded.

Yep, just another typical week for the Phoenix Mercury, from Tina Charles leaving and Sophie Cunningham expressing her opinion on that to how Diana Taurasi's aging curve affects both the present and future of this franchise. Oh, also, Pancake Gustafson is explored in detail. All thanks to Hayden Cilley of The Next, Mercury beat reporter, who joined host Howard Megdal to discuss.

So why did the New York Liberty take a step back over the past two games, following a ten-game stretch in which they had the best net rating in the WNBA? The Next Liberty beat reporter Jackie Powell joins host Howard Megdal to talk about New York's increasing reliance on Crystal Dangerfield, a "ball of muscle" per head coach Sandy Brondello who allows the offense to function at ideal levels. Plus, plenty of Sabrina Ionescu talk, an elegy for Lorela Cubaj, and the Han Xu content you know you all crave.

Elizabeth Galloway McQuitter, the great WBL trailblazer and President of Legends of The Ball, joins host Howard Megdal for a rollicking romp through the incredible history of the WBL, an often-ignored league made up of nothing less than the trailblazers of Title IX who made the modern women's game possible. Hear about what life was like in those heady moments when the WBL finally turned pro women's basketball into an extended reality, with a lifespan second only to the WNBA. But hear, too, about the pain of the league's demise, and what lessons can be learned about it and applied to women's basketball to this day. We'll be telling WBL stories all year here at Locked On Women's Basketball and The Next, don't miss a moment!
