The MMA fighters from Nagaland made a statement on the undercard of Matrix Fight Night 9 in Delhi. All three fighters from The Combat Academy Nagaland picked up a win on the undercard.  

Arsenba Ozukum opened the card against Bishwamitra of Manipur in a Flyweight contest and secured a dominant decision victory. Arsenba was dictating the fight with his low kicks and gave no room for Bishwamitra to make a comeback in the fight. This was the second-straight loss for Bishwamitra in MFN when it was a memorable promotional debut for Arsenba.  

Imkongsunep Jamir made a statement in his fight against Kapil Kumar as he secured a second-round finish. Imkong was scheduled to fight Sahil Rana initially but an injury to Sahil brought Kapil into the picture on short notice. Imkong dominated the fight throughout the two rounds with his ground game and took home a comfortable win.  

Avizo Lanamai made it 3-0 for Nagaland on the MFN 9 undercard with a brilliant performance against Abhishek Negi. Avizo was in the driving seat throughout the three rounds and took home the decision win in the end.

Grassroot Boxing Promotions is all set to roll out an exciting India vs. Pakistan Boxing card in Dubai on 26 February 2022. The event will feature some exciting India vs. Pakistan boxing contests along with the professional boxing debut of Sarjubala Devi.

Who all will be in action? Who are the Indian boxers fighting Pakistan?

Six Indian boxers will be in action at the event on 26 February 2022. Undefeated top ranked Indian boxer Faizan Anwar will be going up against Yameen Khan of Pakistan in a Welterweight bout when Mizo superstar and top-ranked Nutlai Lalbiakkima will be fighting Fida Muhammad of Pakistan in a Light Flyweight bout.

Upcoming star in Mizoram, Laldingliana will be locking horns with Muhammad Khan in a Featherweight bout. Another name from Mizoram and WBC Youth champion Lalrinsanga Tlau will be fighting Muhammad Abbasi.

Manipur’s Shaikhom Rebaldo will be representing India as he fights Mukhtiar Ahmed in a Featherweight bout. John Kenty was another name that was expected to be in action at the event for India but the Mizo star was not able to get paper clearance in time for traveling. The event will also see the professional boxing debut of Indian boxing star Sarjubala Devi. Hailing from Manipur, Sarjubala has already made her mark in the amateur world and have secured medal in the World Championship as well.
