Mambo! All good things must come to an end, so sub-par ones must too. A bit more Joe heavy this week as Alex thought visiting some coffee shops was more important than the action at home meeting, but both pulled through to help out some causes close to home and Joe has a drunk story that takes up a good 1/3 of the episode. Finishing like it started its a fairly brief Swahili section and £15 is poorly handled, but the boring fact is rather good so be sure to hang around. Jambo! The penultimate episode, a lot of goodbyes and generally a feeling of melancholy. Joe speaks up a lot more for a change but Alex continues to butt in at every opportunity available. Its gets a bit emotional at times, and there's a lot of fog as well as describing what a long haul flight is like which you are all welcome to skip. A rather underwhelming Swahili section but the £15 raises some interesting questions and the bare bones Disney review is contrasted by a straight to the point boring fact about this scene. Mambo! Big episode today, talking about the thing your whole experience has been leading to, your entrepreneur's pitches. We switch things up as for the first time the project is more memorable than village life and we speak about snakes for a surprisingly long amount of time. The back half is growing faster than a sedentary person in lockdown and has sported a new segment so be sure to stick around through the admittedly poor £15 and meandering boring fact to hear it out. Mambo! We're back in the village and how much we remember are at an all-time low. We talk about a pretty sombre event so the warnings here before you start, but hopefully the rest of the ramblings are as you'd expect. As ever there's £15/Facts and the Swahili section fill in the back end. Please do leave us a review with any questions or send us an email with any queries

Mambo! Back at it again with the long-ass episodes. We're talking through the mid-phase review this week, the first time you'll be back in contact with your desperate echo groups, and lots of fun and games. Alex has super low blood sugar at the beginning but picks it up later in and Joe is as cheery as ever, bad attitudes, movie making, rule-breaking and half-remembered activities are par for the course. £15/Facts and the ever staple swahili section fill in the back end. As ever feel free to leave us a review with your question or send us an email with any queries

Mambo! Big episode covering a pretty long time period, it shows in the run time. We talk everything from messing around in the mountains, to baking next to a bonfire and everything in between. A real mixed bag of some serious topics as well as the more fun aspects that you'll encounter, and an inside into the weird in-jokes you build up when you're stuck with some new friends in rural Africa. Please try to stick it through our indulgence when talking stories about Sean Connery and Shrek, the skip 15 secs button exists for a reason if you can't stand our madness. A pretty solid wrap up in the Swahili section /£15 and Alex's boring fact is almost interesting. As ever feel free to leave us a review with your question or send us an email with any queries

Mambo! We're finally into the double digits for episodes, just as listens has shifted into the triple digits, thankyou to you guys for listening to this - it makes the editing well worth it to know this might help someone thinking of signing up. This week we're talking about the day to day stuff you'll be doing when your not planning lessons or teaching students, stuff to expect and the stuff you should do to not be as unprepared as Alex. We talk about the food you'll have typically (you'll have to stay tuned to a future episode with some slightly fancier recipes) and as ever Swahili, Boring facts and £15. Drop us an email or leave any questions in a review down below, and once again thank you for sharing this podcast with anyone who's thinking of volunteering

Mambo! We're back after a wee break for Christmas, this episode is essential listening for any would-be Raleigh volunteers so hopefully that makes up for the delay. We'll go through in as much detail as possible what teaching on a Raleigh programme entails. We'll explain team leaders, debriefs, Alex's favourite energisers and share details on the mysterious never before revealed enigma at the heart of the Livelihoods programme, The Booklet. Apologies for the slight clicking (the charger for my laptop wasn't working properly so I kept plugging it in and out, didn't realise the mic picked it up) extra segments as always (joes £15 is particularly weak), feel free to email in any questions you might have.

Mambo! What it's all been leading up to, finally we are in the village doing what we signed up for. Learn about the trials and tribulations involved in making an action day happen, a badly worded description of Kwadolis foot plan, some bad recollection of family members names and an explanation of the origin of "logging on" itself. Extra segments as always, feel free to email in any questions.

Mambo!. Well the episodes get long and they keep getting longer, so much for the promise of 30-minute bite-sized chunks in episode 1. We talk at length about the lectures you'll be attending, activities you'll be participating in, groups you'll be put in and bedrooms you'll be lying awake in. Joe has a good time and Alex gets buried under something, keep listening to find out what. The Swahili section is good as ever and boring facts is vaguely engaging, fifteen quid becomes a staple of the back end. As ever feel free to email in any questions or leave them in a review underneath.
