In this episode, Brandon shamelessly rips off one of his favorite podcasts, "Song Exploder."
Brandon dissects 'Your Everloving Arms' from both the writing and recording perspectives.
A few years back, he found himself holed up in his house after his divorce. He was saving up money to quit his career and start chasing a career in music.
After learning some Bob Wills' style chord progressions, he incorporated them into what would be 'Your Everloving Arms.'
After a social media "relationship" ended abruptly, he used the experience to serve as a starting point for the song.
Because of his love affair with antiquated language, he incorporated the term "everloving" into the song--a word that he hadn't heard since sixth grade from his favorite teacher.
He also discusses how the first iteration of the song scared him because of its rock-a-billy sound, since he is from the home of the genre.
Brandon goes into the recording process which involves recording various tracks of the same instrument and hard panning.
Enjoy!
