This Sunday we celebrated baptisms at LBCF. The Bible calls us to our baptism as an act in community, in family, and as a practice of laying our lives down daily. Jesus modeled this public declaration in his life and invites us to do the same.

In the parable of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee, we are invited to imagine and wonder where we see ourselves in this story and how often we are both the proud Pharisee, wanting to do everything ourselves, and the tax collector, desperately in need of mercy from our Savior.

In the parable of the prodigal son, we see not just one but both sons had missed the heart of the father - a heart that shows us to love without keeping others in our debt.

In the parable of The Great Banquet, we learn that the table is big enough.

In the parable of The Rich Fool, Jesus warns us of the dangers of greed. Jesus shows us that we don't always notice how selfish choices darken our ability to enter God's kingdom. So this parable calls us towards a biblical idea of stewardship, one that calls us towards love and justice.

This message explores the story of Jesus clearing the temple on the second day of Holy Week. Christ brings down the walls built to keep people from close relationship with Him. What does it look like to be present with our self, including our grief, and present with our loving God?
