Season 3, Episode 24: How To Brush Your Teeth With Long COVID

Discusses two recommendations from my dental hygienist and dentist to help people with Long COVID perform dental care/oral hygiene when symptomatic.

1. ​Electric toothbrush

- More expensive than regular toothbrushes but

Ideal for us when our arms are tired/aching and it is

hard to move our arms around.

- I think of it as an investment to avoid having to pay

for fillings, etc.

- I have an Oral B iO toothbrush but any electric toothbrush will do

1. ​ OraCare Mouthwash:

- You have to get it from your dentist

- It kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi and breaks

down Biofilm

- It is recommended for people undergoing

chemotherapy who are too weak to perform oral/

dental hygiene.

- $45 per box of two 16 oz bottles

- pump 3 pumps from each bottle, allow it to mix/

mingle for 30 seconds, then swish for 30-60

seconds and spit

ALSO: this was not mentioned in the episode but if I am tired I will sit in a chair or on the bathroom floor while performing oral hygiene.
