SLC native Julian Carr didn’t start skiing until the 8th grade and he had a fear of heights growing up. Today, he’s a pro skier known for his big airs off of massive cliffs and has been in several Warren Miller films, but he’s also a successful businessman and outdoor industry leader. Raised in the Seattle area, Tyler Ceccanti joined the K2 athlete roster at the age of 14. Today, he’s been in seven Warren Miller films, going on eight. When Tyler isn’t skiing, he can be found doing pretty much everything else: mountain biking, wake boarding, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles and working hard at his family-owned company. Idaho raised McKenna Peterson is a professional skier who calls both Alta and Sun Valley her home mountains and has been in two Warren Miller films in the last five years. By summer, she is a female skipper who seine fishes in southeast Alaska. New Zealand born Sam Smoothy spent six years on the Freeride World Tour and has been featured in countless ski films, including the 2011 Warren Miller film, “Like There’s No Tomorrow”. Idaho grown Lexi duPontentered the Warren Miller scene a decade ago when she was a green nineteen-year-old. Today, she’s a world-renowned big mountain skier and has been featured in a multitude of films. Listen to her talk about her dream of piloting a flight over the Amazon Rainforest, how she realized fruit bats are her spirit animal, the highs of witnessing the birth of her nephews, building an off-the-grid Canadian home and the hilarious (yet awkward) moment on a date when things turned south.   

With around a dozen Warren Miller films under his belt, extreme skiing pioneer Scot Schmidt helped to carve out freeskiing as we know it today. These days he can be found splitting his time between California and Montana. Along with her partner in the Team Spring at the 2018 Winter Olympics, Minnesota native Jessie Diggins brought home the first gold medal the US Cross Country Ski Team has ever won.
