I started with Bridgett story and finished the series

The plot and characters kept me guessing. I enjoyed reading them and told anyone who would listen to read this series. I like learning history. Thank you

Longshot From Darkness

This story is filled with historical facts and there is murder, deceitful characters, honorable men, Native American's who were killed for their land and family drama. Bannack MT which is the setting of many of the scenes are; sheriff Henry Plummer, the civil war characters are Irishman Patrick Murphy Confederate solider and Billy Adams a union solider from Wisconsin. Rob Finn an Irishman and a Pinkerton Detective and also Patrick Murphy's brother in law. Rob Finn also has a home in Wisconsin, but through most of the story is in the west on an investigation of gold ore theft. This writer has pulled together a history filled story.

Good reading

I have enjoyed all of the longshot series. They are set during the civil war era but it is about what was also happening alongside the war. Characters are well developed and the story is always interesting.

Darkness

I found this book to be very good. It was realistic for the time period it was about. The main character was portrayed quite well, This is the second book I read by this author. I look forward to reading his other books.

Excellent portrayal of character and morals of the day

This is an excellent story capturing the times and divergent emotions/conditions of war and rampant growth of a large country. Add in the motivation of greed in areas of discovered gold and you find people who lose their moral compass. Rob and many others did not. Great story teller!!
