Pete texted in about the Giannis-Milwaukee debacle because they’re now down 3-1 to the Miami Heat. He wanted to know our thoughts on if Giannis was going to stay on the Bucks after next season and if not, who do we think he goes to?

It’s officially time to panic for Milwaukee after the Miami Heat’s amazing comeback to go up 3-0. I was totally wrong about the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. To open up the show, we talked about my fantasy team and Ryan tried to talk me off the ledge, but I’m not sure if I’m there yet

We discussed the Bears’ QB situation and who we really want to be under center in Week 1. 17:29: Chicago White Sox

Is Reynaldo Lopez broken? Will he be a reliable pitcher? One of us thinks he belongs in the bullpen. The Sox don’t have time to experiment with their rotation. Yoan Moncada’s health came up, and how this team reacts to their series in Minnesota will tell the story of the team.

30:55: Los Angeles Dodgers

I just had to mention the Dodgers’ comeback against Arizona and how wild it is to me that LA is so good. That, and I still don’t think the San Diego Padres are a World Series contender.

35:29: Panic Time

The Miami Heat have a chance to go up 3-0 against the Milwaukee Bucks. Is it time to freak out in Milwaukee? We both think the Greek Freak is gone after next season so the window is closing. Could he go to the Heat?

39:50: Ja Morant

Just had to touch on Ja Morant winning Rookie of the Year by a landslide. Is the Grizzlies system good for him though? Should he be somewhere else or does Memphis build something worth while.

41:20: Are we sleeping on the Boston Celtics?

42:00: Steve Nash being the Brooklyn Nets’ new Head Coach is just weird to both of us. However, his ability to facilitate might loom large.

44:30: New Orleans Saints

The Saints are stacked and could possibly add another defensive weapon. They’re the best team in the NFC and I’m not sure how you can’t pick them to go to the Super Bowl.

49:20: Dak and the Boys

Dak Prescott is a good quarterback. However, I’m not sold on the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl thought.

53:20: NBA Fights are Comedic Gold

Richard Jefferson started a Twitter feud with Pippen and then dragged Lebron James int it for no reason. We just talked about how awesome basketball fights are on social media.

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins says, “If I die, I die” about COVID19 and then retrases his steps. So we decided to talk about who the toughest QB is in the NFC North. The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays should be the new rivalry in Major League Baseball. Throwing at the head isn’t cool, though. Also discussed the NHL Playoffs and how wrong I was about the Colorado Avalanche and Philadelphia Flyers. The Miami Heat are putting everyone on notice and Jimmy Butler is not taking prisoners even in a game where he scores 13 points.

In this order:

-#Bears getting Leonard Fournette or Alvin Kamara? There’s bigger issues than the backfield

-#Cubs deadline moves were grade-A considering their place in the division and what they have to offer for other clubs. The core wasn’t going anywhere and we should have known that.

-The White Sox not making any moves is seriously a blessing in this 60-game season. Playing with house money will allow you to know what you have without the risk

-MLB trade deadline wrap up and a not so nice Padres take after all of their acquisitions

-Jimmy Butler and the Heat are surprising people and Milwaukee may be panicking. 

-Things are looking up for the Bengals after extending Joe Mixon. There should be optimism in Cincy.

From the Natty Nights Archives: Tulane’s Offensive Coordinator Will Hall joined me to talk about Darnell Mooney, the Chicago Bears fifth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He talked about what type of player he is on and off the field, his sense of humor, and his work ethic. He touched on how easy it is to work Mooney into an offense and how explosive he can be off the line. We also discussed the exciting game that Tulane had against Houston last season and where he thinks the program is headed now. Coach Hall additionally gave some insight as to what it’s like navigating as a coordinator, scout, and recruiter during COVID19.

The Chicago White Sox continue to roll and take advantage of the weaker part of their schedule. The Chicago Cubs had a good chance to cash in on the Detroit Tigers and couldn’t. The Chicago Bears had a bad loss today as David Montgomery went down with a groin injury. The Big Ten is thinking about playing games in domes in the winter.
