This episode is a special one for us! Dr. Dimple Patel holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University and a Bachelor's degree from DePaul University. She is a committee member and team captain for Team Patel in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk, created in honor of her mother, who passed away by suicide in 2011. Dimple has also contributed to McLean Hospital’s "Deconstructing Stigma" campaign, which aimed to reduce mental health stigma, and has volunteered for various nonprofits dedicated to mental health advocacy. She is especially passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues within the South Asian community, which are often stigmatized.
