  • The Twin Peaks Pilot Episode

Diane, 7:30 am, February twenty-fourth. Entering town of Twin Peaks. Five miles south of the Canadian border, twelve miles west of the state line. Never seen so many trees in my life. As WC Fields would say, I'd rather be here than Philadelphia. It's fifty-four degrees on a slightly overcast day. Weatherman said rain. If you could get paid that kind of money for being wrong sixty percent of the time it'd beat working. Mileage is 79,345, gauge is on reserve, I'm riding on fumes here, I've got to tank up when I get into town. Remind me to tell you how much that is. Lunch was $6.31 at the Lamplighter Inn. That's on Highway Two near Lewis Fork. That was a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat, a slice of cherry pie and a cup of coffee. Damn good food. Diane, if you ever get up this way, that cherry pie is worth a stop.

Spoiler Warning if you haven't yet seen Twin Peaks.

  • Movie Round Up - Remembering our 2025 favourites and some new films too

The Twin Peaks episode is slightly delayed while I learn how to make some damn fine coffee and pie, and instead we got together recently to talk about some of our favourites from 2025. We also talk some new movies with Mortal Kombat 2, Disclosure Day and Obsession, plus Greg Arraki's 1997 surrealist (bonkers) soap opera satire Nowhere gets a mention.

  • Lost Highway

If someone started sending random tapes to my house to make me insane, it'd probably have to have that John Leguizamo movie the Pest on there. This movie poses a lot of questions; the main one being whether or not it is suitable to watch with your mother in law. It's not quite Monster's Ball levels of unsuitable, but it's definitely close. Take care when tracking this one down for a watch, maybe get a hot milo or something.

  • Johnny Mnemonic: In Black and White

Cyborg war whales! Udo Kier! Room service! The 2022 black and white re-release of Johnny Mnemonic gave us a new appreciation for the 90's cyberpunk action thriller.

  • Flight of the Navigator

This week the podcast looks back at the 1986 alien abduction fantasy Flight of the Navigator. We got some permed mullets, adults inappropriately flirting with 12 year olds, cute little pet bat things, hard R words, everything you'd expect from a kids film from the 80's. Great stuff all round. Also this is kind of a horror movie but we'll explain more as we go.

  • Grease

I don't know how else to say so I'm just gonna say it - bust out those hand jives folks we're gettin' greasy on this one. We talk about everything Grease; the stage play to film adaptation, the music, the characters, retro nostalgia and as always our thoughts and feelings on the 1978 classic.

RIP to the beautiful Olivia Newton John and long live our chin blessed prince John Travolta. Stay til the end to find out what movie will be up next week.

  • Locke

This week on the pod Jimmy brings us the 2013 one man car drama (crama?) that is Locke. We talk about Tom Hardy's epic sick day off work, the millenial nightmare that is being on a stressful phone call for 90 minutes, and how this movie can also act as a radio play or sleeping pill. We also talk the technical behind the scenes, how limitations breed creativity in film, Jack Nicholson's werewolf movie (not really but google it) and a little other films in the person-stuck-in-one-location genre.

  • The Fast and The Furious - Tokyo Drift

This week we ain't rollin in no Hyundai as Tristan brings the 3rd installment of the Fast and Furious franchise to the pod. The movie that inspired young people everywhere to save up their Maccas money to buy a Nissan Skyline, and what Roger Ebert would describe as a magnificent contribution to car cinema - TOKYO DRIFT. Not really, but this one kinda has it all, if by all you mean romantic drifting sequences, west meets east drift philosophy, a killer soundtrack and a few more things that I can't really remember. It's all a blur really but you gotta appreciate this solid 7/10 banger for what is.

  • Olympus Has Fallen

This week on the pod Jimmy has graced us by selecting none other than the 49% RT score rollercoaster that is ̶W̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ ̶H̶o̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶D̶o̶w̶n̶ Olympus Has Fallen! Directed by Anthony Powertool Vengeance Fuqua and starring our beloved Gerard Big Top Butler, we talk about code names, cosy Gerard, knife fights, code names, the one-man army genre, goofy patriotism and a little bit more. And in case there's any doubt we are sure to remind you maybe 5 or 6 times that we recommend this movie.
