We're back after some busy months full of professional political obligations, but we're working on a consistent schedule! 😁
In this episode we talked about new and returning Latino candidates, leaders, and happenings. I go on a rant about not dying on "political hills" and Senator Anavitarte shares his thoughts on DAs.
Ya'll wanna host a live forum talking about the use, the issues, and the feelings around the term "Latin-X?" If so, tell us!
We're kickstarting 2023 with a semi interview featuring co-host Senator Anavitarte who became Georgia's 1st ever Latino legislator in Senate leadership. We also have a new speaker of the house, a new LG, and more fresh electeds than I've ever seen. It's a brave new world under the gold dome, but also some things remain the same. Governer Kemp, aka my old boss, is moving into his second term where he can do what he likes without fear of reelection...
The dean of the Gwinnett house delegation and OG Latino elected official joins us to talk about some political memories. Thanks for tuning in! We talked about Rep. Marin's public service history, the work of the LatinX Alliance, GOP Hispanic outreach efforts, and more. And yes, at times we sound like old friends... because we are. Ha!
We're back after a loooooong break due to career updates and the legislative session. Thanks for keeping up with our passion project!
Join us for as we recap Latino political victories, thoughts on the Supreme Court and the growing importance of our community in Georgia...
Happy New Year! One last episode for 2021. We discuss the very active and visible role of Hispanic leaders in the Atlanta Mayor and City Council President races. Our community was highly engaged, present, and active in these campaigns. We tipped the scales. Then we "read the tea leaves" to explore the future of Hispanic political leadership in 2022.
Also a quick mention of all the Hispanic candidates running in 2022... there's at least 7!!!
We know OUR listeners will absolutely love some data analysis directly from the source. Our guest, Mark Hugo Lopez - director of Pew's Hispanic Research, did NOT disappoint. We touch on the topic of racial identity, digital learning, and more as it affects our Hispanic community.
It's been a minute. Our bad. Joel and Jason had a stellar year in the legislative session. Chris was on loan as a senior executive for a state gov't agency. In this episode we play catch up and promise a return to a regular schedule. :)
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month ya'll!!!
It's a new season and we're joined by the famous (infamous) Greg Bluestein! We shared an open dialogue about the violence at our nation's capitol, the historic US Senate Runoff and some thoughts as we start Georgia's legislative session. Enjoy! :)
It's been a full year of LosPols after a rough COVID launch. We've grown and matured as a podcast. Join us for closing thoughts on 2020 and the dramatic end of the this campaign season. The eyes of the nation are on Georgia and our growing Hispanic electorate!
Senator Marco Antonio Rubio joins us for a brief conversation before we do our "What's on your political mind" segment solo. Join us as we discuss the future of partisan Latino voters, LatAm geopolitics and thoughts on Latino voter outreach.
