In Episode 9, we discuss Losing in board gaming. To start off the episode, we chat about the games that are bringing us joy: Railroad Ink, Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig, The Castles of Burgundy, Kanban EV, and Captain Flip (plus a sticker surprise!)
Our hobby is competitive, and we all play to win, but, ultimately, we’re playing to spend time together and have a good time. How do we manage the feelings of losing while also being part of creating an enjoyable experience for everyone? We discuss how frustration, trash talking, and gloating play into our gaming experiences as well. Losing sucks, but there’s so much we can learn from the game loss and the folks sitting around the table with us.
