  • Richard Hough: Hellas Verona's 1985 Scudetto, the cult heroes of 'I Gialloblù' and the brilliance of the battered Bentegodi

In fair Verona we lay our scene for this week’s episode, as we were joined by Richard Hough. Richard has lived in Verona for the past 15 years and is a season ticket holder at Hellas Verona. His love for the club led to him writing the book ‘Verona Campeone: the Miracle of 85’ which came out this year - a book chronicling the team that won an unlikely Scudetto in 1985. We talked about the book, some of the great characters to feature for Hellas Verona for that Scudetto triumph - and over the years since - and why Bentegodi is a great place to watch football, even if the stadium is a bit battered and ruined.

You can find Richard on X at @richard_hough and on BlueSky at @rickhough.bsky.social. • Aaron Flanagan: why non-league 'is life', the rise of Curzon Ashton and being on the committee at Cray Valley Paper Mills FC.

After a little summer break, Matt and Marc are back. And what a great way to start, as we were joined by Aaron Flanagan - journalist, non-league lover and old friend of Lost Boyos. We started by talking his connection to Manchester City - from the grit of the 90s and 00s to the glitz of its modern day - before going into Aaron's main love: non-league football. We diiscussed his love for Curzon Ashton (via Woodley Sports and Mossley) before getting on to his new local club, Cray Valley PM - where he has just accepted a place on the committee.
